
The Royal Life Saving
Virtual First Aid Course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations‚ including community and workplace settings.
The course aims to establish competence in the required skills and knowledge‚ judgement and physical abilities required to provide a first aid response to a casualty.
Pre-requisite: There are no pre-requisites for this course
Minimum age: 14 years
Course Length: 8 hours
Units of Competency:
Upon successful course completion, participants will be issued a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment with the following units of competency:
• HLTAID009 Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
• HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Re-Accreditation: 3 years (CPR 12 months)
Level of English: A reasonable level of English is required to be able to complete this course successfully
Virtual (online) Delivery
This course is delivered in a virtual (online) manner. You will need access to a computer, with webcam and stable internet connection. Please consider if a virtual courses is best suited for you prior to enrolling.

Note: Royal Life Saving is not a CRICOS provider; we are unable to provide national recognised training to overseas students holding a student visa.
Learning Methods:
You can complete a nationally accredited first aid course anywhere you have access to the internet with live virtual training offered by Royal Life Saving.
We'll send you a resource pack with all the items you'll need to complete the first aid course, which includes:
- a manikin to practice CPR on,
- a trainer defibrillator,
- training asthma inhaler and epi-pen, and
- A range of bandages and pads.
We'll also give you access to online modules that you can complete in your own time, at your own pace.
To complete the course, a qualified Royal Life Saving trainer will take you through a live virtual training and assessment session at a pre-booked time. Once you've successfully completed your assessment we'll email your statement of attainment to you.
