DESCRIPTION:04) Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting 👧 🚑 \nFirst Aid E&C\n\n The Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting course provides the participant with the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in an education & care setting.\nParticipants may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations‚ including community and workplace settings. This course will provide participants with the ability to recognise basic signs and symptoms of various illnesses and injury and subsequent provision of appropriate treatment or assistance. The course focus includes CPR‚ treatment of common medical conditions and situation recognition and management.\n\nThis course requires practical application of Resuscitation that will require kneeling on the floor and a range of practical scenarios with candidates on the floor. DESCRIPTION:PD-05) Aquatic Industry - Cultural Competence \nPD Cultural\n\nThe Cultural Competence Program is directly aimed for staff working in the aquatic and community recreation sector. It is designed to enable workers to gain a better\, broader and deeper understanding of the needs of communities from other countries when it comes to attending an aquatic facility\, accessing a public swimming pool and being involved in a formal swimming program.\n\nFor many people from diverse cultures and backgrounds\, these seemingly simple interactions can  be daunting.  Preparedness of the aquatic sector will help deliver a positive experience at the pool…one which results in a fun\, friendly and safe experience.\n\nCompleting the program will ensure aquatic sector staff gain practical skills and cultural specific knowledge that they can apply at the workplace and in everyday life.\n\nOn top of this\, being a Culturally Qualified Centre can assist your Aquatic Centre to attract new markets as well as meet growing governance and community service obligations.\n\nMuch of the Cultural and Linguistic Diverse (CaLD) community has had limited access and involvement to pools and swimming programs\, so it is imperative for the aquatic industry to gain cultural competence to assist in easing all cultures into a fun\, friendly and safe experience around water. \n\nThe Cultural Competency course is geared toward developing understanding in culture\, diversity\, and inclusion through:  \n\n\n	Meanings and definitions\n	Ways that cultural diversity contributes to competitive advantage\n	Unconscious bias in decision making and how to remedy it\n	Different cultures’ ways of thinking\, acting and communicating\n	How the above is affected by values\, attitudes and beliefs\n	How different people of different cultures adapt to new cultures\n\nThe content includes nine (9) modules:\n\n\n	Module 1 - Diversity Works\n	Module 2 - Differences and Similarities\n	Module 3 - Practical Cultural Competence\n	Module 4 - Unconscious Bias\n	Module 5 - Cross Cultural Communication\n	Module 6 - Cross Cultural Communication\n	Module 7 - Cultural Adaption\n	Module 8 - Australia by the Numbers\n	Module 9 - Course Summary\n\n\n \n\nIntroduction:\nIt’s easy to complete the program from Royal Life Saving\, the Cultural Competence Program is online\, allowing you the freedom to complete the course when and where it suits. It should only take three hours and it’s not necessary to complete it in one go. The Program is available via the Royal Life Saving learning management system\, with support to help you along the way. \n\n\n\n\nTarget Audience:\nIndividuals who complete the program will gain practical skills and cultural specific knowledge for use in the workplace and everyday life. By improving verbal and non-verbal communication\, individuals and mangers will be better able to address diverse workforces and customers\, leading to better management.\nUltimately the key to dealing with cultural diversity is building mutually respectful relationships. \n\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes:\n\n\n\nLearning Methods:\nDeliver online in a self-paced learning environment.\n\nCourse Duration: 3 hours\nDelivery Mode: Online\nPre-requisites: Nil\n\nParticipants will require a level of English to be able to give and receive instructions‚ read signage\, read content and complete questionnaires.
