DESCRIPTION:PD-01) Aquatic Industry - Child Safety for Front Line Staff \nPD Child-FL\n\nThe safety and wellbeing of children should sit at the heart of any organisation’s values. However\, this does not mean that the development and implementation of child safe practices is always as good as it needs to be or that improvements can not be made.   \n\nFurther to this\, ensuring children’s’ safety in an aquatic industry context can present a range of additional and specialised challenges. This is why Royal Life Saving has developed two online child safety modules; one targeted at frontline workers and the other targeted at management level staff. \n\nThe chief purpose of the modules is to assist the aquatic industry\, and it’s workforce\, to develop a clear understanding of the expectations\, legal requirements and best practices relating to child safety. \n\nIntroduction:\nFrontline staff:\nThis is essentially designed for swim teachers\, program instructors\, pool lifeguards\, and any other staff that come into regular contact with children through their role at an aquatic facility\, swim school or similar. It focuses on equipping learners with knowledge and skills around appropriate and inappropriate conduct\, identifying abuse (including identifying grooming behaviours)\, and obligations and best practice around responding to and reporting abuse or suspected abuse.\n\nThe modules are ultimately designed to give those that work in the industry confidence and clarity in managing this extremely important and at times challenging part of their roles.\nIt assists with the following areas:\n\n	Supervision and general professionalism as Frontline Staff\n	Change room and toilets\n	Physical contact\n	Photography\, video and online content\n	Organisational guidelines and individual code of conduct.\n\n Having first-hand knowledge on the correct way to manage these areas enables you to complete your role as Frontline staff in an efficient and professional manner.\n \n\n\n\nTarget Audience:\nAnyone who is working with children in a Frontline or Teacher capacity. These roles can be from Swim Teacher\, Lifeguard and Facility Supervisor in an industry.\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes:\n\n\n\nLearning Methods:\nDeliver online in a Self-paced learning environment\n \nLike many of the professional development products on offer through Royal Life Saving the content is highly contextualised to the aquatic industry environment and uses a range of screen designs\, interactions\, visual representations\, scenarios\, reflection tools and knowledge checks to maximise engagement and learning\n \nParticipants will require a level of English to be able to give and receive instructions\, read signage\, read content and complete questionnaires. DESCRIPTION:04) Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting 👧 🚑 \nFirst Aid E&C\n\n The Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting course provides the participant with the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in an education & care setting.\nParticipants may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations‚ including community and workplace settings. This course will provide participants with the ability to recognise basic signs and symptoms of various illnesses and injury and subsequent provision of appropriate treatment or assistance. The course focus includes CPR‚ treatment of common medical conditions and situation recognition and management.\n\nThis course requires practical application of Resuscitation that will require kneeling on the floor and a range of practical scenarios with candidates on the floor.
