DESCRIPTION:06) Bronze Medallion Award (OWR) 🏅 \n2025 BM\n\n\nThe Royal Life Saving Bronze Medallion Award provides the minimum requirements for those persons wishing to provide supervision and integrated rescue responses in an aquatic environment. The course aims to develop the level of knowledge‚ judgement‚ technique and physical ability required to carry out safe water rescues.\n\nPre-requisite: There are no pre-requisites for this course\nMinimum age: 14 years\nCourse Length: 11 hours\n\nUnits of Competency:\nUpon successful completion you will obtain the following units of competence:\n\n	HLTAID009 Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation\n	SISCAQU020 Perform Basic Water Rescues\n	SISCAQU029 Perform Open Water Rescues\n\nRe-Accreditation: 12 months\nLevel of English: A reasonable level of English is required to be able to complete this course successfully\n\nView the course outline and other information at this link.\n\nIs this the right course for me? The following physical activities will occur during the course unless you advise of any physical difficulties or limitations: kneeling‚ bending over‚ crouching‚ standing‚ leaning‚ sitting\, pushing\, lifting weights\, swimming long distances\, towing\, diving\, carrying and other physical activity. \n\n\nThe specific requirements required for successful completion of the Bronze Medallion are:\n\n	Performing 2 minutes Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation on an adult manikin on the ground\n	Swimming 400m in under 13 minutes: 100m breaststroke\, 100m survival backstroke (underwater arm recovery)\, 100m sidestroke and 100m freestyle\n	100m timed tow in under 3 minutes 15: 50m swim (any recognisable stroke)\, 50m tow of an unconscious casualty\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTarget Audience:\n\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes:\n\n\n\nLearning Methods:\nParticipants will require the following for the face-to-face component:\n\n	Photo Identification (i.e. Drivers Licence)\n	Your Unique Student Identifier (www.usi.gov.au)\n	Your Swimming & Lifesaving Manual\n	Appropriate clothing‚ sunscreen‚ bathers and towel\n	Any drinks‚ meals and/or snacks you may need\n\n\nPre-Course: Participants are required to complete a pre-course workbook before the face-to-face component.
